Once we got it lifted, we had to re-level the foot of the center support. The flooding had completely re-contoured the ground where the support's foot had been, piling up nearly a foot of silt and junk. Lee steadies the support while Pete digs a new, level footing for the support to sit on. You can see the lifting cradle (rock bar) and the side-pull that Monica and Linda were operating to hold the bridgework in the general alignment we wanted it to end up in. Meanwhile, James was operating the lifting winch. Once the footing was level, we were able to set the bridge section back down into position. (photo by Bill Taggart)
