Unfortunately, as we began to lift the far end, the first end did slip partly off the pier. The more we lifted the far end, the more it bound against the pier. That meant we were going to have to lift it back up again – but we didn't want to lose what we had at the far end. Fortunately, Steve “just happened” to have brought his own Griphoist (the winch we use to tension the high line). So, with the bridge section in limbo, a contingent hiked out and brought his unit in.
