With the approach ramp reestablished, we are now almost ready to start on the first section of actual bridge span. If you look carefully, you can just see the wire rope draped across the end of the bridge. We were fortunate to get a pair of spar trees in just about perfect alignment for lifting the end of the bridge. The other end of this section is still (barely) on it's pier, so we tied it off to hopefully keep it in place as we lifted and pivoted the other end. What we are aiming to do is to set the 2 phone-pole 'beams' of the bridge back on the cribbed pier, nestled between the two blocks on the end. (photo by Bill Taggart)
